I make hand-made pottery that is both functional and sculptural with themes of botanicals, the mountains, and classic literature. I make colorful functional pieces that include mugs, bowls, platters, planters, and butter dishes. My whimsical sculptural pieces include mini chickens, gnomes, snails, cats, and houses. My decorative process for my botanical flowers is the sgraffito method, where you carve into a colored layer of slip on the clay. Then, I hand paint each color of glaze onto the piece.
